High-resolution Ku-band Airborne Sar System and Ccd Field Test Experiment

چکیده
Coherent change detection (CCD) technique is a kind of promising technique for current remote sensing system using RADAR, such as observation from unmanned aircraft observation system. Since a sensitivity of the target change depends on wavelength of radar system, higher frequency Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is useful to detect a very slight change. On the other hand, detection of very slight change such as car track and collapse of resident area by using airborne high resolution SAR platform is very challenging due to very accurate flight pass control between before and after the change observation. We have hence developed a Ku-band airborne SAR system, with a spatial resolution of 10cm, and have developed high accuracy navigation system and installed them on the airborne platform. This paper presents the first results of CCD experiments. The experiments were carried on November 2007 in Nagoya area, using newly developed Ku-band SAR system curried on Gurfstream-II platform. We have conducted the experiments for 2 days and obtained 14 pass SAR images in total. We have achieved an accuracy of repeat pass separation as less than 10m and less than 3 degree of direction as a standard deviation. The CCD signal processing has been successfully implemented, and obtained with an average coherence of 0.6-0.9 in all images. As a result, a very slight change such as car track and trace of human activity can be detected. Detailed analysis result and discussion are presented in the paper.

New processing approach and results for bistatic TerraSAR-X/F-SAR spaceborne-airborne SAR experiments
In November 2007, the first bistatic SAR spaceborne-airborne X-band campaign was carried out , using TerraSAR-X as transmitter and DLR’s new airborne SAR system F-SAR as receiver [1]. The importance of the experiment was not only due to its pioneering character, but also to its potential to serve as a test-bed for the validation of non-stationary bistatic acquisition procedures, novel calibrati...

In January 1986 the design of a high-resolution airborne C-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) started at the Electromagnetics Institute of the Technical University of Denmark. The initial system test flights took place in November and December 1989. The purpose of this paper is to describe the design of the system, its implementation, and performance. The paper will show how digital technology...

متن کاملBistatic Experiment Using TerraSAR-X and DLR’s new F-SAR System
A bistatic X-band experiment was successfully performed early November 2007. TerraSAR-X was used as transmitter and DLR’s new airborne radar system F-SAR, which was programmed to acquire data in a quasicontinuous mode to avoid echo window synchronization issues, was used as bistatic receiver. Precise phase and time referencing between both systems, which is essential for obtaining high resoluti...

The F-SAR airborne SAR instrument represents the successor of the E-SAR system of the German Aerospace Center (DLR), which has been extensively used in the last three decades. Its development was triggered by the current demand for data being simultaneously acquired at different wavelengths and polarisations, as well as by the demand for very high resolution in the order of decimetres. F-SAR is...
